The 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War is set to give this year’s season of reflection added poignance with events across the weekend of November 8-9.
Troops and veterans will lead commemorations at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, with the annual wreath laying at the Cenotaph the following morning.
The National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire is also holding a service to mark Armistice Day on November 11, when all personnel are encouraged to respect the national two-minute silence at 1100.
